SQUID textile window film combines the best properties of plastic window film and transparent curtains. Like transparent curtains, it provides one-way privacy: look outside, but not inside during the day and stylish, warm and natural character with linen-look. Like traditional plastic window films, it's easy to install yourself and easy to clean.

Which color fits my interior best?
Chalk is a neutral colour that goes well in sleek, minimalist surroundings. Chalk is ideal for modern interiors thanks to its simplicity. Test SQUID with a sample booklet.

Can I apply SQUID on my windows?
SQUID can be applied on any flat and smooth glass surfaces (avoid sandblasted glass or plastic surfaces). SQUID can even be applied on high-efficiency glass (HR++). When doing this, cover the full window area needs and avoid the color Coal. SQUID can also be applied in damp rooms. Avoid direct contact with water needs and air the room frequently to make sure any condensation can evaporate. See the FAQ for more information or contact us on info@squid.be.

How much SQUID do for my window?
Our rolls are standard 1.3 meters wide and can be up to 50 meters long.
For windows that are less than 1.3 meters in one height or width, you can simply take the dimensions of the glass and slightly oversize (about 5 cm) in both width and height.
For windows larger than 1.3 meters in both directions, simply place two parts of SQUID next to each other. Because of the texture you won't even notice that this is actually made of two pieces!

Can I install SQUID myself?
Absolutely! SQUID is self-adhesive and sticks directly onto your window so you don't need any drilling for fixtures or fittings. Follow the steps on our installation page.

How long until I receive my order?
We aim to deliver SQUID within 3 working days in Benelux and within 1 week to other regions. Samples can take up to 10 days to arrive as delivered through normal mail.

How to install SQUID

Install SQUID in 9 easy steps

Step 1: Gather tools

You will need: scissors, spatula, utility knife and window cleaner to degrease the window (alcohol, ammonia)

Step 2: Clean window

Carefully clean and degrease the glass. Then dry the window with a fiber-free cloth

Step 3: Cut to size

Measure the window in height and width. Cut the SQUID and allow for an overlap of 5 cm on each side

Step 4: Peel SQUID

Peel off about ~20 cm of the SQUID plastic wrap so that the sticky side is exposed

Step 5: Stick 20cm of SQUID

Carefully centre and stick the 20cm SQUID without foil to the top of the window so that your SQUID is now hanging on the window

Step 6: Peel and stick

Peel off the foil little by little (every 20 cm), while gently rubbing the SQUID against the window, from top to bottom and from the center outwards

Step 7: Activate glue

Once all the foil is gone and all the SQUID sticks to the window, use the spatula to press the SQUID against the glass to activate the adhesive. Press from the center outwards

Step 8: Cut edges

Place the spatula next to the silicone edge of the window and hold the blade against the inside of the spatula. Cut off the 5cm excess edges. Use a new blade every 2m to prevent fraying

Step 9: Finish up

Press the spatula firmly over the entire surface of SQUID again, both horizontally and vertically, to activate all the adhesive. All done! Have fun with SQUID!
